We’re super honoured to announce that Toronto Indigenous Harm Reduction is the recipient of this years CBC Toronto Community Champions Award!!
Someone who admires our work but doesn’t actually know us personally nominated us which stood out to CBC. Hearing the details of this work since the beginning of the pandemic the CBC judges were moved and said our story had “all the feels.”
We’ve put our heart and soul into this work and filling a gap and shining light on something that is much needed in the community - especially now. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped along the way - Dashmawaan Bemadzinjin (They Feed the People) for serving our weekly feasts and Church of the Holy Trinity for supporting us since Day 1.
